On my arrival, I was greeted outside the building and invited in. Shortly after I met my assessor, who was very warm and welcoming. They had some background knowledge re my disability, but as it was cancer-related needed to ask me some more personal questions in order to complete a full assessment.
The assessor had good listening skills, I did not feel rushed or under pressure. I came with no expectations as in fact because my disability is not physically visible I did not know how I could be supported. However I was speechless and astounded at the time, with the compassion and attention that the assessor paid to my current condition & disability.
They made some amazing suggestions which I would
have never imagined could be possible, in order to offer me an equal opportunity to learn as HE student. I feel with the extra aids and interventions recommended, my studying experience will be much more
achievable and comfortable. Thank you
