What Happens Next?

  1. We will draft your report
Your report will be based on what you told us, your existing assessments, and any further research and negotiations that we may have undertaken on your behalf. You can expect us to send you the report within two weeks. Research or a peak in workload can delay reports, so call us if you haven’t heard from us after three weeks.
  2. If you asked to see a draft of your report
Initially we will send you the draft report for your consideration.
Let us know if you have any questions about the draft. Call or e-mail us as soon as possible, as this will help reduce delays. Your assessor will be happy to discuss the report further with you if you have any concerns - although obviously we have to reserve the right to make our recommendations. If you do not wish to respond, we will circulate your report after five working days.
  3. We will circulate your report for you
We will send a copy to your Funding Body. If you agreed to it, we will send a copy to your Disability Advisor. If we have recommended any training, we may make some information available to the trainers to ensure you get the maximum benefit.
  4. You might wish to approach your Funding Body politely by phone
Two or three days after you receive your final copy, you may wish to ring your Funding Body to check that they have received the report and enquire how long it may be before they will write to you. Funding Bodies have big variations in their workloads. Typically they are very busy in the autumn term, so please be aware of the pressures that they are under. But for your own good, don’t allow matters to slip.
  5. Please tell us of any refusals or correspondence
Sometimes a Funding Body may refuse to implement part of our recommendations. They may not tell us about this. Please let us know about any refusals, or related correspondence with your Funding Body. We will continue to support you.
  6. You may need to contact trainers yourself
Arrangements vary, but always enquire about having any recommended training as soon as your equipment is delivered so you get the most benefit from it.

Mission Statement

Broadbent and Co will provide in-depth advice and assessments for people with either a disability or a specific learning difficulty. Both the advice and the assessment reports will be clear and easy to follow. The reports will be written in a professional and unbiased way, to provide all the details needed by the official Funding Bodies.

We will build on current good practice, and try to improve the quality of the assessments and reports we provide, so that we continue to be regarded as a model of good practice in the field of professional assessment.
