The Shaw Trust Student and Graduate Programme
This programme helps disabled students and graduates find appropriate work experience and employment. The Shaw Trust works in partnership with employers and universities to help provide a level playing field for disabled students. Services include:

Launch of new guide for disabled young people
My Life, My Way is aimed at 14 to 25-year-olds as a guide for young people on the options available for their future including college, training and employment.

The Deputy Minister announced the guide during his keynote speech at the conference on 4 March in Builth Wells organised by Care Coordination Network UK (CCNUK) entitled ‘Moving on together: exploring the transition experience of disabled young people and their families in Wales.

As one in five people of working age have a disability, the Health and Safety executive has developed a useful online guide called ‘Health and Safety for Disabled People’. This guide sets out employer and employee responsibilities with regard to health and safety, the law relating to disabled people, and advice on how to carry out a risk assessment.

Disability Awareness in Action is an information network on disability and human rights. Their information is provided by disabled people for disabled people so that individuals and organisations can develop and build their own self-help movement at the local and national level, to campaign for and influence social change.

Mission Statement

Broadbent and Co will provide in-depth advice and assessments for people with either a disability or a specific learning difficulty. Both the advice and the assessment reports will be clear and easy to follow. The reports will be written in a professional and unbiased way, to provide all the details needed by the official Funding Bodies.

We will build on current good practice, and try to improve the quality of the assessments and reports we provide, so that we continue to be regarded as a model of good practice in the field of professional assessment.
