About us:

Broadbent & Co was set up in 1996 by Steven Broadbent and Elizabeth Broadbent. Steven Broadbent is an assessor and the Centre Manager. He is a trained teacher employed by a local education authority for 22 years, and has worked in the area of assessment of disabled students for over 25 years.
Elizabeth Broadbent is a chartered physiotherapist who worked in the NHS until 2000, and also in Social Services and Education with disabled people since 1977.

In January 2006 Broadbent & Co became a limited company - Broadbent Assist Ltd trading as Broadbent & Co.

Where we work:

Broadbent & Co are currently undertaking 900 assessments per year, 450 in their own right and 450 for other registered assessment centres. We are developing outreach provision in various Further Education and Higher Education Institutions. These include Huddersfield University, Liverpool John Moores University, Bolton University, Liverpool University, St Martin's University College (Lancaster, Carlisle, Ambleside), Bournemouth University, Wigan and Leigh College and East Lancashire Institute of Higher Education.

In addition to undertaking assessments in our own right in our centre, Broadbent & Co. undertakes assessments for NERAC at Sunderland University and Bath Assessment Centre at Bath University.

We also assess Open University students, mainly in their own home environments.
